It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to this seat of higher learning namely Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Kumarhatti-Solan (HP) which has been set up by a distinguished public figure and eminent promotor of higher education institutions Dr. Tarsem Garg under the aegis of the reputed Maharishi Markandeshwar University Trust and legislated under the Himachal Pradesh Govt. Act No.22 of 2010.

Establishment of this University in 2010 was a significant milestone for the promotion of higher education in the State. Although initially it was set up as an interdisciplinary University, but with the establishment of the first Medical College in private sector in the State as its constituent Institute, the University keeping in view the needs of the State has specified its thrust area of Medical and Health Sciences and has plans to start other courses of Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy both at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level in coming sessions.

The University offers ultra-modern physical infrastructure including a multi-speciality 650 beds Hospital, rich Library, Well equipped Labs and Operation Theatres and conducive environment for any academic pursuits where world class education is provided by well qualified and long experienced faculty chosen with care from across the country as also excellent homelike residential facilities.
